Men’s Shed Cymru

A national initiative supporting community spaces where men share skills and socialise to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Men's Shed Cymru logo

Men’s Sheds Cymru is the national support body for the Men’s Sheds movement across Wales. They facilitate the creation of safe, community-driven spaces where men can socialise, share practical skills, and work “shoulder to shoulder” on projects.

The Marauders are a proud supporter, standing with them in a shared mission to combat social isolation and improve men’s mental health through community and purpose. The Marauders have a similar mission and have developed close bonds with the Pontyclun and Pontypridd Men’s Sheds, where men frequently participate and volunteer across both groups to support local wellbeing.

The group operates across two main locations with different focuses:

  • The Allotment (Clun Avenue): They typically meet three times a week to grow fruit and vegetables.
  • The Bunker Workshop (Mwyndy): This is their dedicated woodworking space. If the yellow barrier at Mwyndy Cross Industries is open, the shed is in use.
  • Repair Café (Bethel Baptist Church): Members also run a repair session every 2nd Wednesday of the month from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
