On the day

Note that there is no minibus arranged for this trip so please ask if you’d like a lift to the start point. There are plenty of vehicles going up on both days.

Day 1 – Tuesday 23rd June
We’ll be meeting at the Elan Valley Visitor Centre anytime from 9am for a coffee or breakfast before we start our walk at 10.30am

Lee will be leading us on a 4-5 hour / 7 mile walk (Marauders Grade 4) around the Elan Valley Reservoirs and we are expected to finish this walk at around 4pm.

For those Marauders staying over during the evening we’ll drive to our accommodation at Fforddlas Barn, situated just outside Builth Wells (Postcode LD2 3RW). We will be self-catering for the evening and we’ll be organising a buffet style evening food offering. You will be asked to bring with you and to contribute some food and drink.

The cost of staying at Fforddlas is approximately £15pppn or free if you are staying on-site in your campervan. You can stay either 1 or both nights. If you would like a space, please call or message Greg on 07484-748499 as spaces are limited.

Day 2 – Wednesday 24th June

It’s a self-catered breakfast for those in their campervans or staying at Fforddlas Barn.

For the walkers, we’ll be meeting at the Groe car park in Builth Wells at 9:30am ready for a 10am start.

Lee will be leading us on a full day, 6-hour/10 mile walk (Marauders Grade 5) around the Wye Valley and we are expected to finish this walk at around 4pm.

In the evening, and for those staying over, a table is booked for 19:30 at The White Horse pub in Builth Wells. We have assumed a table for 13 but everyone is welcome and we’ll firm up numbers a little closer to the time.

After dinner, it’s back to Fforddlas for those staying over for the second night.

Day 3 – Thursday 25th June

No fixed plans for the day – just get up when you want to, go for another walk if you want to, or go home if you want to!
