Rhossili Bay Circular Walk

Lee Major will be taking us on an 8-mile walk around Rhossili Bay today.

We’ll be joining the coastal path at Worms Head and passing by Mewslade & Falls Bay before turning inland to Middleton and along the Gower Way to Rhosilli Downs to enjoy the stunning views. Our return leg is via Hillend campsite, through the dunes to the beach, and back to the start point.

Lots of historic points of interest along the way too. It’s sure to be a cracking day for us!

Car Sharing is Recommended for this Walk

Can we ask that for those people leaving from the RCT area that we all meet at Llantrisant Leisure Centre car park (Postcode CF72 8DJ) for 8am where we’ll car share down to Rhossili.

Arrival
We recommend arriving at least 15-20 minutes before the walk/event start time. It’s a great opportunity to meet the event leaders, register and catch up with your fellow Marauders before we start.

Parking
Park at the National Trust Car Park Rhossili SA3 1PP – cost £6 for all day parking or free for National Trust members

Registration
You will be asked for your name, your mobile telephone number along with an emergency contact name and number. If you have any relevant medical conditions or medication that may be relevant to declare, please pass this information to the event leader during registration.

Be Prepared – Health, Wellbeing & Weather
Participation in this event is entirely at your own risk, and it is your sole responsibility to ensure you are physically fit and well enough to take part. This includes being appropriately dressed for the event/weather and carrying any personal or emergency medication you may require during the activity.

Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome on this walk but must be carefully supervised at all times and kept on a lead when necessary. We may at times walk on/near to busy roads and/or in fields with livestock roaming free.

What to bring

Grade 4-5 Walk
Designed for 5–10 miles in rural areas with steep sections and rough ground.

  • Footwear: Waterproof walking boots with ankle support are essential for rural, rougher, or “toughest” terrain.
  • Clothing: A full layering system (base, mid, and waterproof outer shell) to manage 5–7 hours of exposure.
  • Refreshments: 1.5–2 litres of water and a substantial packed lunch for these full-day efforts.
  • Safety: Any personal medication or small first-aid items you may need while away from easy access points.
