On the day

On the second Monday of every month we open the doors of the Llantrisant Guildhall for our Social Hub. Everyone is welcome and it’s a great way of either catching up with your fellow Marauders in a relaxed environment or to drop in, if it’s your first time, to find out more about us if you’ve not yet decided to take a more active part in the group.

Each month, we split the morning into two; the first half is our informal catch up followed by an invited guest speaker or community group who come in to give us some insights, advice, guidance, education to help us with our lives.

This month, in our June Hub, we will be joined by Paul Whatley, an Estate Planning consultant who is a member of the National Associate of Licensed Paralegals with over 20 years experience in writing Wills and Inheritance/Estate planning. Paul will go through the importance of having the correct Will structures in place to ensure your assets are protected as well as talking about Powers of Attorney, Inheritance Tax, Care Fees and how Trusts can be used for better estate protection. Really important stuff that everybody should get in place for peace of mind.

Arrival – Doors open at 9am but feel free to drop in at anytime during the morning – a warm welcome awaits!

Parking – Parking is very ,limited directly outside the Guildhall so please use one of the local village car parks or on-street if you can find a space.

Registration – You will be asked for your name, your mobile telephone number along with an emergency contact name and number. If you have any relevant medical conditions or medication that may be relevant to declare, please pass this information to the event leader during registration.

If you already have your Marauders digital ID, great – we’ll just scan you in. If not, you can pre-register and get your very own QR code beforehand here –

This event requires some volunteering support to make it run smoothly and we’d love to hear from you if you are able to lend a hand on the day. This week we are looking for:

Walk & Talk support (to assist the leaders and keep an eye on the group (eg man the walkie talkie, be a backmarker, nominate yourself as a first aider)

Befrienders (to look out for new guys that join and make them feel welcome)

Pre-event preparation (e.g. Just turn up 15 minutes early to set up our event venue, arrange the tables and chairs for our Social hub, help set out the sports hall)

Community event volunteers (e.g. join our organising committee
