This a free event designed to provide support and to raise the awareness of men’s mental health issues for those living in the Gwent area. You will get to meet and network with local mental health groups, your peers and professionals face to face and pick up some great information and resources on the night.

It’s open to everybody so feel free to bring along a mate or your family members.

The Marauders will be exhibiting at the event and are proud to be associated with this great initiative.

On the day

Cars will be leaving Llantwit Fardre Community Centre car park (Postcode CF38 2NA) at 5pm if anyone would like a lift or car share.

This event is free and open to all – just turn up!

 

WHAT TO EXPECT – Direct Support: Meet local mental health groups, professionals and your peers, face-to-face.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND – Whether you’re a man seeking sup[port. a service provider, or a friend/family member looking to help a loved one – everyone is welcome.

Let’s tackle isolation together.

Arrival – We recommend arriving at least 15-20 minutes before the event start time. It’s a great opportunity to meet the event leaders, register and catch up with your fellow Marauders before we start.

Parking – Free parking available at the leisure centre.

What to bring

No need to bring anything — just turn up!

Volunteering support

This event requires some volunteering support to make it run smoothly and we’d love to hear from you if you are able to lend a hand on the day. This week we are looking for:

Walk & Talk support (to assist the leaders and keep an eye on the group (eg man the walkie talkie, be a backmarker, nominate yourself as a first aider)

Befrienders (to look out for new guys that join and make them feel welcome)

Pre-event preparation (e.g. Just turn up 15 minutes early to set up our event venue, arrange the tables and chairs for our Social hub, help set out the sports hall)

Community event volunteers (e.g. join our organising committee
