Ceri Morgan will be leading us on a whistlestop tour in the Rhondda Valleys. This will be a circular 8.5 mile walk. Some footpaths in the lower Rhondda have been joined together to make this route possible. Beginning at Porth which is the gateway to the valleys we venture to Rhondda Golf Club ascending a steep climb. We get our breaths back for five minutes as we then continue part of the Pilgrims Way down into the villages of Trealaw then Dinas. We then ascend again to the village of Trebanog eventually descending toward Lewis Merthyr Colliery – now Rhondda Heritage Park where we make our way to our end point in the small district of Llwyncelyn. There will be a few roads to cross on our walk so please be aware.
This is a Grade 4 walk of 4 hours and 8.5 miles
